June 15, 2019Clear the Lobby: What laws are MPs voting on this week? – w/c 10th June
June 18, 2019Welcome to our weekly feature courtesy of Sebastian Salek, the brains behind Clear the Lobby, working to bring you all the laws MPs are voting on this week, and explained in plain English!
Aaaand we’re back. After a week off for recess, MPs return to Parliament on Tuesday. It’s another sparse agenda, given Theresa May’s lack of a majority.
But she’s out the door soon. Could the next prime minister call a general election that results in a stronger government (of any persuasion) which is more able to get stuff passed?
One piece of legislation the government has manged to get through, though, is the Tenant Fees Act. The law, which bans most letting fees in England, came into force on Saturday.
