Noise Complaints: It's Hardly Just About The Volume
Commercial awareness for regional and high street law, by the people doing it.

Need to know
If you move somewhere already known for noise, your ability to complain may carry less weight.
The law doesn’t look at volume. It looks at when the noise happens, how long it lasts, how often it occurs, and where it’s coming from.
Welcome to TSL’s Weekly Edge, whether you’re aiming for a regional or high-street practice, or just want to get a feel for how law works in the real world beyond textbooks, you’re in the right place.
No corporate jargon, no massive deals, just real useful information designed to give you that extra edge in your legal journey.
🧠Wilson’s Weekly Wisdom
One of the biggest misconceptions about becoming a solicitor is thinking the hard learning ends once you pass the SQE or LPC. It doesn’t, that’s just the beginning.
Even qualified solicitors with years of experience still come across situations they’ve never seen before. The law changes. Part of being a good lawyer is being comfortable saying: “I haven’t dealt with this before, but I’ll figure it out.”
Commercial awareness works the same way. You are never “finished” learning it. There will always be a new industry trend, court decision, economic shift, or client concern to understand. That’s not a weakness in the profession, it’s what keeps it interesting.
