Clear the Lobby: What laws are MPs voting on this week? – w/c 23rd July

Welcome to our weekly feature courtesy of Sebastian Salek, the brains behind Clear the Lobby, working to bring you all the laws MPs are voting on this week, and explained in plain English!

It’s the last full week before summer recess. Two big Brexit bills are back in Parliament, both of which could be amended to keep the EU in a customs union. There are plenty of amendments to be voted on, so it’s all eyes on Theresa May to see if she can keep her party in check and avoid a government defeat. Also watch Boris Johnson, who could give a resignation speech that’s unlikely to reflect well on the prime minister…

Civil Aviation (Accessibility) Bill
Aims to improve conditions for disabled people when flying. Creates new requirements on parking at airports and requires a named person to be responsible for air passengers with disabilities among other things. Ten minute rule motion presented by Helen Whately.
