Slater & Gordon this week have reported losses of almost £500m after tax, due to this the firm is considering office closures as part of a re-organisation following the huge loss. The firm told the Australian Stock Exchange that it was likely a number of current sites will close, with an unknown number of potential redundancies.
Although the firm is yet to confirm redundancy plans, a member of staff at one of the firm’s three Liverpool offices has states that at least 36 members of staff from one office alone are to be made redundant.
As part of Slater & Gordon’s re-organisation plans the firm aims to operate through three specialised legal services divisions, which will hopefully allow the majority of sites to remain open as only sites which contain certain practices areas will be impacted. However, it is unclear which practice areas are to be affected.
