A new initiative started by Rajah & Tann, a Singaporean firm, hopes to outsource professionals who have the relevant experience and qualifications to clients who need in-house counsel for a prescribed period. The service, provided through R&T Asia Resources, a wholly owned subsidiary of R&T, is aimed at clients who need additional support during busy periods, but it also provides additional benefits, such as: being able to control costs.
This is not the first initiative to provide an outsourcing service, however, Rajah & Tann maintain it is different from other providers, and, indeed, superior. The firm submits that because the outsourcing service is fully backed by the firm, it can offer the same quality of legal service and the service will have strong connections with the firm’s partners. It is worth noting, however, that this service is not the first of its kind, with Allen & Overy and DLA Piper offering similar services.
